Scientists from the UPWr Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics carried out precise measurements of the Tatra Mountain peaks. As a result, many atlases and textbooks will have to be revised. Świnica turned out to be one meter higher, the Skrajny Granat on Orla Perć by three meters, and the border post in Rysy stands at 2500 m above sea level.

Italian paleontologist, Prof. Luca Pandolfi, from the University of Basilicata in Potenza, is working together with anthropologist and paleontologist Dr. hab. Dariusz Nowakowski from UPWr to uncover the mysteries of our planet's past, with a particular focus on the evolution of large mammals and their adaptation to the ever-changing climate.

Nigerian-born and raised PhD student Abubakar Bello focuses his research at the UPWr Doctoral School on population pharmacokinetic modelling of ionophore coccidiostat residues in laying hens. His research will provide useful insight to food safety regulators carrying out consumer health safety and risk assessments on commercial poultry egg products.
