UPWr Summer School for students of natural sciences from foreign universities

UPWr is organizing summer schools for students of natural sciences from foreign universities, who show interest in science and would like to apply for a PhD after graduation.

Two programs will be offered to summer school participants:

  1. Horses as a topic of a scientific research for everyone.
  2. Dogs and cats in interdisciplinary scientific research.

During these 14 days our UPWr Summer School students will take part in lectures and workshops conducted by renowned professors and researchers from Poland and abroad. The program is funded by the National Agency for Academic Exchange in frames of the program SPINAKER - Intensive International Education Programs.*

Candidates who are interested in participating, will go through a selection process.

Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Knowledge of the English language (at least B2 level)
  • Motivational letter
  • Research activity
  • The admission committee will select 10 of the best candidates for each program
As part of UPWr Summer School there are also going to be conducted open lectures available for everyone.

*Project title: Specialized summer schools as a bridge to a career at the UPWr Doctoral School.

Project objectives: internationalization of the UPWr Doctoral School; attracting new foreign students who, by participating in the UPWr Summer School, will learn about the opportunities offered by education at UPWr (conducting research, doctoral school).

Planned effects: as a result of the Project implementation, 2 IIEPs will be created, in frames of which there will be lectures conducted by well-known foreign specialists and 2 workshops will be organized. Students will be offered 2 interdisciplinary courses, which will show the latest achievements in contemporary natural sciences. A total of 60 foreign students are planned to come, and through their participation in the activities, they will learn about UPWr, the research conducted here and the University's leading scientists. Thanks to their stay in Poland and Wrocław, students also will get to know our country and culture.

Project value: the activities proposed in the Program will increase the level of internationalization of the Doctoral School through the interest in research conducted at UPWr by foreign students who may later become candidates for the doctoral school.

Contribution of European Funds: PLN 519,691.75

The program is co-financed by the European Social Fund under the ‘Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development’, non-competitive project entitled "Support for institutional capacity of Polish HEIs through establishment and implementation of international study programmes’ " (Action: 3.3 Internationalization of Polish higher education), specified in the application for project funding no. POWR.03.03.00-00-PN16 /18.
