The Participatory Budget was established as an initiative of the team for social responsibility. Its aim is to strengthen the sense of community among all those involved in the life of the university, i.e., employees (both academic and non-academic), students, doctoral candidates, and doctoral school attendees.

The goal of the Participatory Budget in 2024 is to implement projects related to broadly defined pro-environmental activities.

The guiding motto of the campaign is "Seize the opportunity – we provide the funds."

A total amount of 100,000 Polish zlotys is allocated for the projects. 50,000 zlotys for employee projects (employees, doctoral candidates, doctoral school attendees) and 50,000 zlotys for student projects.

Any member of the university can submit their project.

Projects admitted for voting must meet the following criteria:

• In line with the objectives of the Participatory Budget,
• Compliant with the applicable legal regulations, the statute, and the rules of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences,
• Consistent with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDG),
• Feasible to be completed by the end of December 2024,
• Realizable within the budget proposed by the project initiator.

Participatory Budget 2023 schedule:

• Project submissions will be accepted from January 2 to January 22, 2024.
• Project verification will take place on January 30, 2024.
• Projects qualified for voting will be announced on February 5, 2024.
• Voting on projects will take place from February 5 to February 9, 2024.
• The voting results will be announced on February 12, 2024.
