The European Regions Research and Innovation Network (ERRIN)

errin_logo.pngThe European Regions Research and Innovation Network (ERRIN) is a dynamically developing organization established in Brussels in 2001, bringing together more than 120 entities representing, among others, European regions, facilitating regional representatives' participation in the European Research Area. The network's representative in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship is the Marshal's Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

The network's activities focus on creating project partnerships, exchanging knowledge and good practices, and establishing joint activities. By engaging in discussions with representatives of EU institutions, ERRIN seeks to influence individual policies, keeping regional needs in mind in particular. Through the activities undertaken, the ERRIN network implements the objectives of the Europe 2020 Strategy.

The network's mission is:

  • knowledge exchange at the EU level - coordinating information, influencing EU policy, conducting dialogue with EU institutions and other networks and institutions in specific areas,
  • trans-regional exchange - cooperation of stakeholders from individual regions with partners in Europe, supporting members in mutual knowledge transfer through information exchange and involvement in joint projects,
  • knowledge development among regional practitioners - initiating contacts, assisting in project development by providing knowledge of European policies and developing regional perspectives on research and innovation,
  • development of research and innovation strategies and topics - supporting the participation of regional research units in joint initiatives and projects,
  • cooperating with other research and innovation networks and organizations.
