The Leading Research Groups Support Project

  • Goals and Main Actions of the Leading Research Groups (WZB):

The main goal of the WZB project is to support actions and initiatives undertaken by the Leading Research Groups in order to increase the UPWr research activity to a higher level in the country and beyond.

 The project is intended to co-fund:

1. research activity of students of second-cycle studies or after the third year of uniform studies;
2. participation of MA and PhD students in research projects;
3. preliminary research conducted by research employees as well as PhD students prior to submission of a research proposal to funding institution;
4. participation in prestigious scientific/industry conferences;
5. conferences organised by WZB;
6. B2B visits at home and abroad;
7. scientific internships abroad for WZB members;
8. research visits of scientists from abroad;
9. academic exchange in form of short study visits;
10. training/courses supporting the development within the individual career paths of WZB members;
11. external services, e.g. external help in preparing research proposals, proofreading of publications, economic and implementation analyses, market research for a particular invention, examination of purity/patentability, preparation of patent applications in Poland and abroad.

  • Subsidy of publication costs of Leading Research Groups

The Main Library implements a programme of co-funding publications of the Leading Research Groups (WZB) members which, according to the Ministry's lists, receive at least 100 points. Within the WZB project it is possible to acquire up to 100% co-financing of publication costs.

The Leading Didactic Groups Support

The Leading Didactic Groups work on a new concept, reorganisation and development of teaching - for the sake and benefit of the UPWr students.

  •  The WZD project is intended to subsidise the costs of:

1) publication of didactic papers, including articles in journals with IF, textbooks and scripts;
2) implementation of didactic innovations in study courses, including new didactic materials, also e-learning content, and open educational resources;
3) participation in prestigious national and international conferences for WZD teachers;
4) prestigious national and international conferences for didactics organised by WZD;
5) national and international didactic internships and study visits for WZD members;
6) visits of scientists and recognised specialists (practitioners, entrepreneurs) from Poland and abroad to run courses and workshops for students in order to increase the quality of teaching, to build strong relations with the socio-economic environment and adjust study programmes to the needs of the labour market, with accordance to the development strategy of WZD;
7) winter and summer training schools as well as extra educational and specialisation courses for students run by academic teachers and with attendance of students from abroad.
