Short project description: The main objective of the project is to identify the driving forces that have affected the current shape of the landscape, to assess the types and intensity of changes that have occurred in different types and subtypes of landscapes and to define the types and extent of landscape services provided by the identified landscape types and subtypes. The research area will be the communes selected because of the diversity and problems of landscape transformations within their borders, representing different landscape types. The expected final effect will be the identification of landscape changes in the area of selected communes and the driving forces that contributed to their creation. A possibly full list of landscape services provided by the identified landscape types in the areas of particular communes will be drawn up, together with an analysis of changes in the demand for particular services in the following years. The last stage will be to define the types of landscape changes and to assess the scope of changes in landscape services that will take place as a result of the spatial policy of individual communes, resulting from the fulfilment of the inhabitants' demand and the need for landscape protection. The final effect will be 3 scenarios of changes in the scope of landscape services provided in the future.
