Academic Folk Song and Dance Band "Jedliniok"

Academic Song and Dance Ensemble "Jedliniok" of Wroclaw University of Life Sciences was founded in 1975. Its members are students from all Wroclaw universities. The name of the group derives from jedliniok, a Lower Silesian dance from the vicinity of Jedlina Zdrój.

"Jedliniok" has in its repertoire national dances - polonaise, mazur, krakowiak - as well as regional dances and songs. During its more than 30 years of activity, the ensemble has represented the university and the city of Wroclaw at International Folklore Festivals, Cepeliads, Harvest Festivals, Agraria, Juvenalia, conferences, university festivals. It has given concerts more than 3,000 times at home and abroad.

In addition to concerts, the band also conducts educational and training activities. Since 2004, the subject "The role of folklore in the culture of the nation" - conducted during the band's rehearsals - has been a humanities subject for students of the University of Life Sciences and Wroclaw University of Technology.
