„Młode umysły - Young Minds Project”
The Vice-Rector for Science announced a competition for the funding of individual research projects carried out by students of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences entitled "Młode umysły - Young Minds Project", 2024 edition.
The competition for funding individual research projects is open to students who are at least in the second cycle of studies or have completed the third year of uniform master's studies (in the case of veterinary studies).
The individual research projects must be carried out in a student-mentor relationship, where the research supervisor is an academic teacher with at least a PhD degree, and is employed at the university in a research or research and teaching position.
Within the competition, it is possible to fund individual research projects as follows:
- three projects in each of the scientific disciplines to be evaluated and
- three projects in scientific disciplines that are not evaluated.
The maximum amount of funding for a research project is PLN 10,000.
The funds can be used for:
- materials for research projects (e.g. purchase of reagents, small laboratory equipment that is not a fixed asset, specialised biological material, other costs related to data transfer);
- short-term travel to collect material for research.
Funding is granted for a period of 12 months, i.e. from June 1st to May 31st of the following year with the possibility of extending the duration of the project for a maximum of 6 months at no extra cost, but no longer than December 31st of the year following the decision.

Participation in the competition is based on the project application via Google Form, with the deadline being May 12th 2024, with the following attachments (you can download them at the bottom of the page):
- appendix No.2 List of student’s academic achievements
- appendix No.3 Supervisor’s opinion
- appendix No.4 Supervisor’s statement
- appendix No.5 Estimated budget.

Results of the competition
The results of the competition will be announced by the Science Administration Department on the university's website within 30 days of the deadline.
