Purpose of Data Processing and Legal Basis

The purpose of data processing is to handle and respond to received inquiries, as well as to provide preliminary information related to the development of cooperation.

Personal data of the users of the controller's website may be processed for the following purposes and based on the following legal grounds:

  • to perform our duties under the Higher Education and Science Act – on the basis of Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR;
  • to carry out any activities necessary for contract conclusion or execution of a concluded contract – on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR (necessity to conclude and/or execute a contract or to take action upon request);
  • to issue an invoice or a bill and to comply with other tax law obligations – on the basis of Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR (legal obligation);

In compliance with applicable laws, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences may retain personal data only for the period required to fulfil the purposes for which they are used. With regard to personal data processed on the basis of the controller’s legitimate interest, including for informational and promotional purposes, we process the data until an objection is validly filed in accordance with Article 21 of the GDPR. As for personal data processed on the basis of user’s consent, we process the data until the consent is withdrawn or until the purposes of the processing are achieved. With regard to personal data processed for analytical or statistical purposes, or the use of cookies, we process the data until it becomes obsolete or no longer useful.

Your data will be transferred to other entities with whom we are bound by contracts of personal data entrustment and to whom we provide data on the basis of applicable regulations, including subcontractors, entities hosting (storing) personal data for the controller, entities providing services in the field of operation and support of ICT systems, delivery companies, and entities providing marketing, legal or IT services. Furthermore, the information you provide may be made available to the relevant public authorities if required by applicable law.

As our website user, you are entitled to the following data processing rights:

  • the right to obtain information as to what personal data we hold and to access such data,
  • the right to rectify and amend inaccurate or incomplete personal data,
  • the right to request the deletion of personal data once there is no legitimate reason for its continued storage,

  • the right to be forgotten, should further data processing not be required by current legislation,

The controller hereby notifies that these rights are not unconditional and may not apply to every personal data processing operation.

If the user has given his/her consent to a specific processing operation, such consent may be withdrawn at any time. The withdrawal of a user’s consent shall not affect the processing carried out on the basis of the consent before its withdrawal.

In order to exercise your rights as our website user, you may contact the controller using the contact form to indicate the scope of your request. The controller will respond within a maximum of 30 days from the date of receiving the request and its substantiation, unless an extension of this period is justified in accordance with the GDPR.


Website use

Using the website involves sending requests to the server on which the website is stored. Each request made to the server is recorded in the server logs. The logs include in particular the user's IP address, the server’s date and time, information about the user’s web browser and operating system. Logs are saved and stored on the server. The server logs are used to operate the website and their content is not disclosed to anyone except persons and entities authorised to administer the server. The controller does not use the server logs in any way to identify the user. The information contained in the logs may include, but is not limited to, the IP address, type of platform and web browser, the Internet provider and the website address from where the access to the controller's website was observed. This data will not be combined with personal data provided by users.

The content presented on the website does not constitute advice or guidance and does not relate to any specific factual situation.
