Ewa Burszta-Adamiak, University professor
PhD (2005) and PhD hab. (2015) in environmental engineering (Wrocław University of Science and Technology). Currently an associate professor at Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Geodesy. She specializes in the field of water and sanitary engineering. Her main expertise is in sustainable management of rainwater and snowmelt in urban areas. Scientific interests are also focused around the issues of financing investment tasks in the field of rainwater management in cities, modeling od water and sewage systems and the application of the water footprint indicator as a tool supporting the decision-making process in water and sewage management.
The editor of the technical guidelines “Good Practices – principles for the sustainable management of storm water from road surfaces” and “DAFA DZ 1.01 Guidelines for the design, performance and maintenance of green roofs - guidelines for green roofs” and the substantive coordinator of the Catalogue of good practices-principles of the sustainable management of waters rainfall from the surface of road lanes (Wrocław, 2017).

Aleksandra Bawiec, assistant professor
Małgorzata Biniak-Pieróg, University professor
A graduate of the Agricultural University of Wrocław, she obtained a PhD in agricultural sciences in the environment development discipline in 2006, and a postdoctoral degree in 2019, an assistant professor at the Institute of Environmental Development and Protection at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Geodesy at the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences.
She gained professional experience at the home university and in foreign scientific and research centers, among others in Israel and Canada. She conducts field research and experiments using modern measuring equipment that allows for precise recognition of issues in the field of soil and plant water management, components of the agricultural catchment water balance in environmental monitoring, trends and reasons for changes in extreme values of selected meteorological elements. In addition, she is involved in modeling and assessment of the impact of dry periods on crop yielding and the development of indicators to allow location and assessment of soil drought intensity in agricultural catchments.
She is the author or co-author of over 50 scientific papers. She has participated in many national and international conferences, is a member of scientific associations and a research projects performer.
Jolanta Dąbrowska, University professor
She is a graduate of environmental engineering (1998 r.). In 2003 she defended her doctoral thesis entitled The influence of natural, anthropogenic and technological factors on water quality in dam reservoirs, based on the example of the Gołuchów Reservoir. In 2019 she acquired her habilitation (post-doctoral degree) in environmental engineering, mining and energy at The Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Geodesy, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences on the basis of a cycle of publications analysing pollutants transfer to surface waters in small catchments.
Her scientific interests lie in surface water quality, water scarcity and climate change, sustainable water management, ecological engineering, riparian buffers, the application of geosynthetic materials for erosion control and plant growth support.
She is gaining experience as a contractor of R&D projects, projects aimed at increasing the number of graduates of natural sciences and technical fields of study of key importance for the knowledge-based economy and creating the basis for future professional, social and personal competences of primary school students. She has completed many training courses on commercialization and promotion of research results and project management.
She is a member of the Polish Chapter of the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS) and the Polish Committee on Geotechnics. She is also a secretary of EuroGeo7 – the 7th European Geosynthetics Conference, Warsaw 2020.
Magdalena Domańska, assistant professor
In 2006 she completed an M.Sc. program in the field of Environmental Engineering, specialization Sanitary Engineering at Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences and awarded the degree of Master Engineer. During study she took two months internship at Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant. After study she was working at Community Office at the Department of Municipal Economy, Infrastructure and Environmental Protection. In the years 2006 – 2010 she was continued PhD studies at the University and on November 17th, 2010 she awarded the honours degree of PhD in water treatment specialization. The title of her dissertation was “Kinetics of Change in the Concentrations of Chlorine and Chlorine Dioxide in water Distribution Systems”. She participated in scientific conferences in Poland and abroad.
From May to September 2012 she completed an 18 weeks internship at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Process Engineering – Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus, Germany. During her stay she participated in the scientific and research activity at the Institute of Environmental Engineering doing laboratory research and studies on optimization of nanofiltration membranes durability by cleaning process and evaluations of different membrane cleaning conditions. From 2011 she has been working at the Environmental Engineering Institute at Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences, as an assistant of professor.
Further cooperation with a research center in Germany resulted in joint publications and implementation of the Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) method at our University.
Her interests are related to water and wastewater treatment technology as well as fluorescent methods for staining microorganisms.
She conducts classes in the design of sanitary installations and has contributed to the creation of a training installation for students in the field of hydraulic balancing.

Wiesław Fiałkiewicz, assistant professor
Wieslaw Fialkiewicz is a senior researcher and lecturer within the Institute of Environment Engineering of the University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Wroclaw. He received a MSc in civil engineering at Agricultural University of Wroclaw (Poland) in 1990, MSc in regional hydrology at Wageningen Agricultural University (The Netherlands) in 1994 and PhD in agricultural sciences at Agricultural University of Wroclaw in 2001. In 2002-2004 he obtaind PostDoc position in Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières (France). He specializes on modelling water flow, transport of contaminants and water footprint accounting.
His main interest is in hydrological processes, but he also works on interactions between agriculture and the environment, application of water footprint approach in water management and impact of climate change on environment.
He has worked on several international collaborative research projects related to water and climate change: PEGASE, FOOTPRINT, IMPACCT, OSCAR and URBAN_WFTP.

Joanna Kamińska, University professor
Master of Mathematics (2002), BA in Financial Mathematics (2002) - University of Bialystok, PhD in Agricultural Sciences in Environmental Management (2007) - Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, mechanical engineer (2012) - Wrocław University of Technology, postdoctoral degree in environmental engineering, mining and energy (2019) – Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences. Since 2009, an adiunct at the Department of Mathematics in the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences.
In her scientific work, she investigates the impact of anthropogenic factors (in particular road transport) on air quality in urban areas. Author of over 50 reviewed scientific publications and 40 publications in conference materials.
In research, she focuses on the use of various advanced mathematical techniques (data mining, big data, machine learning) to solve environmental problems.
She took scientific internships in the Netherlands and Norway. She participated in several projects as a consultant on statistics and mathematics.

Krzysztof Lejcuś, University professor
A graduate of the University of Wrocław in the field of Environmental Protection. He defended his doctoral dissertation on "Changes in the concentration of biogenic compounds in the waters of the Strzegomka River" at the Agricultural University of Wrocław in 2002. In 2017 he obtained habilitation on the basis of the work "Development and validation of water sorbing geocomposites". From 2019, employed as an associate professor.
A scientist with many years of experience in combining research and implementation work. He was the originator and coordinator of the GEOSAP project, under which Hydrobox technology was developed, patented in the EU and commercialized, allowing to save water in agriculture and urban greenery, and improve the safety of hydrotechnical constructions. Author of numerous scientific publications and projects for the economy.
Paweł Lochyński, University professor
In 2007 graduated from the Chemical Faculty of the Wrocław University of Technology. In 2013 he obtained a PhD title in technical sciences. He is an assistant at the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences at the Institute of Environmental Engineering. Specialization - technical electrochemistry and corrosion.
PhD. Eng. Paweł Lochyński conducts research both on a laboratory scale at the Laboratory of The Faculty Of Environmental Engineering And Geodesy Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences and on a industrial scale in Wroclaw Industrial Park.
PhD. Eng. Paweł Lochyński currently works on the IonsMonit project in cooperation with industry and twice carried out research in the "Mozart" program. He is a laureate of the DRESDEN Fellowship Program. He interned abroad at the Technische Universität Dresden (Germany) and the UNESCO Laboratory of Environmental Electrochemistry, Charles University of Prague (Czech Republic).

Justyna Stańczyk, assistant professor
obtained the degree of MSc. majoring in Sanitary Technology, Environmental Engineering in 2013. She received her PhD in engineering and technical sciences in the area of environmental engineering, mining and energy in 2019. Since 2016, she has been an employee of the Institute of Environmental Engineering.
Her scientific interests focus on the detection of operation conditions of the water supply network, hydraulic and hydrodynamic modeling of water supply and sewage networks, as well as prediction of water consumption. She uses data mining solutions in her research.

Sylwia Charazińska, assistant professor
MSc Eng. Sylwia Charazińska graduated in 2016 from the The Faculty Of Environmental Engineering And Geodesy Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences in the field of Environmental Engineering, majoring in sanitary engineering. In 2017 she began doctoral studies at the Institute of Environmental Engineering at the same university.
Currently conducting research related to the doctoral dissertation: "Removal of nickel from wastewater from chrome-nickel steel processing". She is a member of the team implementing the IonsMonit project in cooperation with the industry.

Arkadiusz Głogowski, assistant professor
Graduate Engineering and water management in 2015 where he defended his thesis "Analysis of the impact of damming the Odra River waters on Malczyce degree to the groundwater level of adjacent areas. ", PhD student at the Institute of Environmental Development and Protection and student of mathematics. In his doctoral thesis, he analyzes the bioclimatic changes of Lower Silesia under the leadership of dr hab. Krystyna Bryś. In his scientific works he uses time series analysis, autonomous differential equation, stochastic and logistic models. He specializes in programming in the R environment (author of tools in the official repository)
As a doctoral student, he started cooperation with the University of Edinburgh where he develops his skills under the guidance of prof. Paolo Perony. Is the contractor of several scientific projects. Member of the Polish Geophysical Society.

Paweł Tomczyk, assistant professor
Participant of doctoral studies in the discipline of environmental protection and shaping since October 2017. He gained experience at internships at the Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven in Belgium, at the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław, the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Wrocław and other institutions.
He underwent a number of training sessions in the field of surface water quality monitoring as well as modeling of hydrological processes and the ecological status of waters. So far, he has participated in scientific projects in the field of methods to improve water quality in the retention reservoir and in the field of assessing the impact of hydrotechnical constructions on the ecological state of watercourses. He has published several articles from the JCR list dealing with issues related to water resources.
Scientific interests focus around the impact of hydroelectric power plants on the aquatic environment, on the assessment of surface water quality (rivers and reservoirs), modeling of hydrological processes and issues of water protection and sustainable development.
