As part of Wrocław Biotechnology Centre, the Leading National Research Centre title holder, an area unifying all universities and research institutes has been created. The result: creation and realization of Environmental Interdisciplinary doctoral studies aimed at 30 doctoral students.

Dr. Magdalena Domańska, Dr. Karolina Rak, Dr. Magdalena Rychlicka, Dr. Paulina Śliwka, Dr. Agata Wojciechowicz-Budzisz and Prof. Grzegorz Zaleśny have been awarded funding for research projects in the Miniatura 6 competition of the National Science Centre.

As part of the Miniatura 6 competition, Dr. Magdalena Domańska from the Institute of Environmental Engineering is to carry out a research project called 'Treated sewage as a source of information on microorganisms involved in the transformation of nitrogen compounds'.

A 'Bee-therapy' garden, a foodsharing fridge or a study and relaxation area in the library – these are just some of the projects submitted to the UPWr Participatory Budget.
