Research projects receive funding in the Miniatura 6 competition
Dr. Magdalena Domańska, Dr. Karolina Rak, Dr. Magdalena Rychlicka, Dr. Paulina Śliwka, Dr. Agata Wojciechowicz-Budzisz and Prof. Grzegorz Zaleśny have been awarded funding for research projects in the Miniatura 6 competition of the National Science Centre.
The UPWr scientists are to receive nearly PLN 300,000 in research grants from the Miniatura 6 competition. Their projects, which are the basis for further research, will deal with bacteriophages in the treatment of diarrhoea in companion animals such as cats and dogs, the use of quinoa sourdough for baking various types of bread, the study of bacteria in sludge from sewage treatment plants, the preparation of ferulic acid with antioxidant, antimicrobial, antidiabetic and anticancer properties, and the development of recipes for healthy milk-based drinks with the addition of spices and with various antioxidant and immune-enhancing properties, among others.
