In the latest edition of the Miniatura 8 competition, organized by the National Science Centre, three researchers from Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences received support for their innovative studies in the fields of public health, environmental protection, and agriculture. The laureates are Dr. Izabela Janus-Ziółkowska, Dr. hab. Iwona Gruss, and Dr. Agata Siedlecka.

Since 1995, the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought has been celebrated on 17 June. The General Assembly of the United Nations established it in order to draw the attention of both decision-makers and ordinary people to this phenomenon, the effects of which are being felt by humanity ever more often and ever more intensely.

Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences together with Polanica-Zdrój, Kłodzko and Dzierżoniów city councils are involved in creating projects for developing three neglected parks in Ołdrzychowice Kłodzkie, Polanica-Zdrój, and around the Palace in Kiełczyn.

UPWr students of Landscape Architecture have designed plans for the development of the Biskupin Campus aligning with the principles of sustainable development. – The students' ideas are interesting and full of innovative and 'green' design solutions. So, there should be an impulse to take action so that the campus becomes a model, multifunctional public space in Wrocław in the future – says Dr. Anna Bocheńska-Skałecka.
