In the last few days the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine has had some exotic patients – a monkey with damaged skull, and a lemur with limb paresis who underwent a successful spinal cord surgery.

Serval is a wild cat native to Africa. A 12-year old male weighing 18 kilograms, currently living in the Borysew zoo, arrived to be examined at the UPWr Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

Since 1995, the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought has been celebrated on 17 June. The General Assembly of the United Nations established it in order to draw the attention of both decision-makers and ordinary people to this phenomenon, the effects of which are being felt by humanity ever more often and ever more intensely.
