- An agreement regarding English second-year Studies in Landscape Architecture and Double Diplomas of UPWr and Hunan Agricultural University in Changsha was made

- The Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences Museum opens in Wrocław
- Work on the Atlas of Open Science Resources (AZON), an online information platform that gathers and provides access to the resources of Wrocław science, starts
- Funds for the construction of the Regional Centre for Innovative Technologies in Production, Processing and Food Safety, called Centre for Innovative Technologies (CIT) for short, are granted
- Shares in Wrocław Research Centre EIT+ from UPWr, Wrocław Municipality and 3 other Wrocław universities are transferred to the State Treasury
- The university is awarded Human Resources Excellence in Research logo by the European Commission

- Nutrition education centres are set up in Radomierz and Hoyerswerda
- The university takes 12th place in the "Initiative for Excellence - Research University" programme (IDUB) - the first competition to select research universities of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education
- Leading Research Groups are established
- UPWr takes 1st place among agricultural universities, and veterinary science and food and nutrition science, becoming the best in the country according to the "Perspektywy" ranking
- University Statutes and a new division of scientific disciplines and academic credentials are introduced - 7 Discipline Councils were established and a Doctoral School was created. The changes result from the act on "Constitution for Science"
- A Complex of eleven teaching and research laboratories is created. A new building of the Institute of Agricultural Engineering is opened on the Biskupin campus, as well as housing, a prototype laboratory, a drying laboratory, a biomass and waste laboratory, a soil agrophysics laboratory, plant technology, protection and traction research laboratory. The building also houses the Training Centre for Plant Protection Technology

- The university is involved in 3 out of 70 research infrastructure projects included in the Polish Research Infrastructure Map
- The university takes 347th place in the world and 8th in Poland in a ranking based on Web of Science UPWr database in terms of scientific impact of publications and 330th and 3rd place respectively in a ranking including gold open access publications
- PLN 12 million from programmes from the National Science Centre is won by leaders of Leading Research Groups, becoming a historic record
