Summer Schools

The purpose of the project is to enable scholarship exchange of students. The Programme allows the participants to take part in the summer school (lasting 7 days, including 2 days for travel) aimed at increasing their competences and qualifications.

20 students from Ukrainian universities can participate in the Summer Schools.

Project implementation time frame: 1 January 2024 – 31 December 2024

Registration deadline: continuous recruitment

The project requires flat rates for travel expenses and subsistence costs.

The scholarship will be paid before arrival at the host institution on the Participant’s bank account.

Travel expenses, health insurance, third-party insurance, accident insurance, visa fees and costs of establishing residency

Straight-line distance between the home institution and the host institution (in km)*: Flat rate amount per person:

* Distances have been calculated with the use of Erasmus+ Distance Calculator

* The number of days of one’s stay should be calculated as follows: the number of days of the event in which the participant is taking place + the maximum of 2 days (1 day to travel to the place of education and 1 day to travel back).

2. Financial agreement – Attachment No. 3.2 To be signed at least 2 weeks before leaving the home institution. The signing of the financial agreement is compulsory. In order to do it the following information is needed:
  • the precise starting date and the precise final date of one’s stay at the consortium’s partner,
  • the scope of activities,
  • bank details (bank name, IBAN No., SWIFT). Please make sure that your bank accepts transfers in Polish currency – PLN.
The above data should be sent to the following e-mail address dwz@upwr.edu.pl at least 5 working days before signing the agreement.
3. Airline/train/bus tickets Before leaving The Beneficiary buys tickets on his/her own.

Summer School: SUSTAINABLE STATE OF NATURE 2.0

Registration deadline: August 12th, 2024
Description: Classes are dedicated to students of faculties related to the field of natural sciences, including environmental protection, environmental engineering, water management, spatial management, and landscape architecture. Everyone who wants to expand their competences in the field of engineering and technical sciences is welcome. The theme of the Summer School includes issues related to, water management, retention, the use of new technologies in assessing the state of the environment, protection of environmentally valuable areas, and other topics. Study visits to facilities devoted to the sustainable use of environmental resources, protection of natural resources and environmental engineering are included in the agenda. Workshops on innovative methods of environmental quality assessment, remote sensing, water management will be held. Participation in the Summer School will allow to broaden knowledge, establish new contacts, develop soft skills as well as learn about the valuable natural and tourist assets of the Sudetes. Classes will be conducted in English. Completion of the Summer School will be confirmed by a certificate.

Day 1 Opening of the Summer School. Presentation of the general
assumptions and goals of the school.
A guided tour of the historical part of the city, including the
Wroclaw hydrotechnical system.
Study visit to Hydropolis.
Departure from Wrocław. Transfer to the accommodation place.
Day 2 Study visit - Forest Gene Bank (forest nursery). Uranium adits
in Kowary. Small forest retention in the Śnieżka forest
district, how to stop water.
Day 3

A visit to the Karkonosze National Park’s Nature and Education
Center Sobieszów Palace.
Study visit- hydrotechnical facility dam and hydroelectric power
plant in Pilchowice.
Innovative methods of environmental quality assessment - short-
range remote sensing workshops (drones, UAVs).

Day 4 The Karkonosze National Park and the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve
(peatlands) – an example of a form of protection of valuable natural
areas. 
Cable car ride to the High Kopa- a walk to the peat bogs – a 6 km route
to Karpacz via Mały Staw, Samotnia Mountain Shelter and the historic
Wang Church.
Śnieżka Meteorological Observatory.
Day 5 “Former Mine” Science and Art Centre in Wałbrzych, Summer
school summary.
Transport to Wrocław.
