UPWr Advances in the QS World University Rankings: Europe

The Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences has made a significant leap in the second edition of the prestigious QS World University Rankings, securing the 452nd position in Europe. This not only marks a jump of 44 places compared to last year but also testifies to the university's commitment to academic and scientific excellence and the implementation of its sustainable development strategy.

In the latest QS Europe ranking, UPWr has placed 18th in Poland, advancing three places compared to 2023. Among life sciences universities in Poland, it currently ranks 3rd – just behind SGGW and the University of Warmia and Mazury.

High student mobility and faculty engagement

UPWr achieved its best results in the categories of Faculty Student Ratio and Inbound Exchange Students. Furthermore, the university improved its position in these indicators by 20 and 39 places respectively compared to the previous year.

UPWr's performance in individual ranking indicators

The Faculty Student Ratio, which measures the ratio of academic staff to students, reflects the institution's resource commitment to its teaching mission. In this regard, UPWr ranks 13th in Poland and 141st in Europe.qs1.png

Student mobility is another area where the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences stands out. It ranks 5th in Poland in the Inbound Exchange Students indicator and 7th in the Outbound Exchange Students indicator. In terms of mobility, among life sciences universities in Poland, UPWr ranks 1st, and 131st in Europe.

Quality of research and sustainable development

The Citations per Paper indicator, which measures the average number of citations received per publication, is further evidence of the high quality of research conducted by UPWr. The university ranks 6th in Poland in this category.

The university's focus on pursuing sustainable development policies is also bearing fruit. In the sustainability indicator, which concerns the achievement of sustainable development goals, the university ranks 6th in Poland and 281st in Europe. The result for this component comes from the analysis of the independent QS Sustainability Ranking, which evaluates the social and environmental impact of universities as educational and research centers.
