Scientist from UPWr becomes a member of ESFRI Health and Food Strategic Working Group

The mission of ESFRI is to support a coherent and strategy-led approach to policy-making on research infrastructures in Europe, and to facilitate multilateral initiatives leading to the better use and development of research infrastructures, at EU and international level. ESFRI's delegates are nominated by the Research Ministers of the Member and Associate Countries, and include a representative of the Commission, working together to develop a joint vision and a common strategy. This strategy aims at overcoming the limits due to fragmentation of individual policies and provides Europe with the most up-to-date Research Infrastructures, responding to the rapidly evolving Science frontiers, advancing knowledge-based technologies and their extended use.

ESFRI delegates are experts appointed by the relevant ministries of the European Union Member States and associated countries. Working groups covering various fields are part of ESFRI. One of them is the Health and Food Strategic Working Group (H&F SWG) led by prof. Lucia Banci from Italy. 

Prof. Agnieszka Kita, leader of the Food & Health Lead Research Team and head of the Division of Potato Processing Technologies at the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, has just been appointed a member of the ESFRI Health and Food Strategic Working Group. H&F SWG monitors and evaluates the implementation of existing research infrastructures in the field of health and food, analyzes the patterns of their implementation, and highlights and improves their potential application in interdisciplinary research infrastructures. The group also supports the work  between ESFRI infrastructures and other European initiatives in related fields, as well as addresses various societal challenges.
