Wrocław Erasmus+ InnHUB launched

The rectors of seven Wrocław universities have signed an agreement to set up the Erasmus+ InnHUB Innovation Centre. The main task of the centre will be to popularise and promote the universities’ offers, the European University initiative and educational mobility.

– I’m really pleased that we’re starting this project together. I hope that we’re all heading in the same direction and that by joining forces, we will achieve success – emphasises Professor Jarosław Bosy, rector of UPWr.

The Erasmus+ InnHUB is a cross-sector innovation centre that works for European educational programmes and the popularisation of the Erasmus+ offer. In Poland, these types of centres already operate in Kraków, Katowice, Gdańsk, Poznań, Łódź and Lublin. Their main task is to work with institutions – universities, local government units, vocational training centres, schools and businesses in particular.

– Currently, all countries in Europe are looking for some way to further promote and use the opportunities of the Erasmus+ programme. Our response to this are the hubs, and this initiative has met with considerable interest in other countries – says Dr. Paweł Poszytek, General Director of FRSE and Director of the National Agency of the Erasmus+ Program and the European Solidarity Corps.

The consortium that will set up the centre in Wrocław includes seven Wrocław higher education institutions: the University of Wrocław, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Wrocław Medical University, Wrocław University of Economics, the Academy of Music and the Academy of Fine Arts. The Academy of Physical Education will soon also join the consortium.

The main task of the new centre will be to promote and popularise the offer of Wrocław's universities related to education, the European University initiative and learning mobility.

The Erasmus+ InnHUB Wrocław will be located in the building at Plac Grunwaldzki 19. The first training courses and workshops are planned for June.

– We work with Wrocław's universities on many different projects, and they also benefit from the Erasmus+ programme on a daily basis. The centre under construction is intended to be a platform for integrating and intensifying these activities, since we know that there are many needs to be taken care of. The three Wrocław universities belong to the alliance of European universities and the Erasmus+ programme are the answer to many challenges facing our institutions– stressed Dr. Paweł Poszytek.
