UPWr in the ranking of Polish universities

Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences took 32nd place in the Polish University Ranking. Our strongest point is innovativeness.

The University Ranking has been prepared by the “Rzeczpospolita” daily and a monthly magazine “Perspektywy” for eighteen years. This year Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences was 32nd among all universities in Poland and 3rd among agricultural schools. Seven categories were taken into account and evaluated: prestige, graduates on the job market, innovativeness, scientific potential, research efficiency, education conditions and internationalization of studies.

Innovativeness is the strongest point of UPWr – this time it took 6th place in the country (in 2016 it was 12th). This category is linked to grants obtained from the European Union, patents and protection rights, sold licenses and spin-off and spin-out firms.

We got 19th position in the prestige category, 23rd in scientific potential and 34th in scientific efficiency.

“Perspektywy” also carried out a ranking of the best major courses of study – they took into account employees’ preferences, subsequent economic status of graduates, rights of faculties to grant academic degrees, academic degrees actually granted, employees’ scientific publications, citations and parametric assessment.

Similarly to 2016, veterinary medicine at UPWr is in the second place of all veterinary faculties in Poland, landscape architecture climbed up from the 6th to the 3rd position, animal husbandry – up one place to the 4th position. The fourth place was also taken by our food and nutrition faculties. MA studies in biotechnology are in the 5th place.
