UPWr in the Shanghai 2021 GRAS Ranking

Since 2017, the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences has been listed in the Shanghai Ranking "by subject" (currently the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects) in two disciplines – food and veterinary sciences. This year, we were once again qualified for both rankings.

Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences ranks 174th in the subject of food science and technology, and currently ranks second among Polish universities listed in the 2021 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. The other Polish universities in the top 200 include: Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) (155th place) and the Poznan University of Life Sciences (186th place).

According to this year's ranking of veterinary medicine UPWr is in 287th place. Other Polish universities such as: Warsaw University of Life Sciences (215th place), University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (276th place) and the University of Agriculture in Kraków (300th place) are also listed in this discipline.

In the food science and technology field, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences received excellent marks in the CNCI (Category Normalized Citation Impact) and IC (International Collaboration) indexes. The first refers to the citation rate of the university's scientists’ publications, the second relates to the level of international collaborations in a given field. When it comes to veterinary medicine, UPWr obtained a good score in the Q1 and TOP indexes, which refer to the quantity and quality of research conducted, compared to other Polish universities.
