One program, two events. EU GREEN Innovation Days behind us

EU GREEN Innovation Days kicked off on April 8 with the Hackathon - Against Food Waste, co-organized by the Research and Development Center team, EU GREEN WP4, and Bioeconomy (Dr. Katarzyna Kosiorowska and Dr. Jan den Boer). Students from the international Bioeconomy program were seeking ways to reduce food waste at various stages of the supply chain and for various target groups. The topics of the challenges were suggested by entrepreneurs operating in the agri-food and HoReCa industries, facing issues with rational management of food products in their daily business operations.

The event was attended by practitioners and mentors - representatives of Foodsharing Wrocław and Tomasz Szuba representing Venturis HoReCa. The experts' task was to evaluate the projects presented by student groups and ask challenging questions.

Simultaneously, on April 10 and 11, a group of students and doctoral students participated in workshops organized by the Research and Development Center, "Basics of creating startups," led by Paweł Żebrowski from SHOPA. Participants learned how to use one of the most popular business model templates in the world, the Business Model Canvas, and acquired practical knowledge in creating a business plan supported by exercises, discussions, and presentations.

The two-day workshop, full of discussions, creative brainstorming, and intense cooperation, resulted in innovative proposals and concluded with a presentation of solutions developed by individual teams.

EU GREEN Innovation Days is the second event in the EU GREEN Entrepreneur Journey series – a workshop and mentoring program aimed at developing a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among the academic community of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences.   Veterinary students with an international scholarship from FVE

  Two students from UPWr were distinguished in the European scholarship program conducted by the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE) and MSD Animal Health. The program supports future veterinarians in their education and professional development.

  Two teams from UPWr on the podium in the final of the National Veterinary Emergency Medicine Competition for Dogs and Cats

  In the final of the 2nd National Veterinary Emergency Medicine Competition for Dogs and Cats, organized by the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, twelve teams qualified, representing various veterinary medicine departments. Among the participants were three teams from UPWr, two of which secured the top spots on the podium, finishing first and second.
