Conducting common research projects and implementing scientific research results are only a few of the main goals achieved by the newly formed consortium, which also conducts research concerning veterinary medicine, medicine and biotechnology.

The holiday season is not only a great time for resting and relaxing but also for taking up new initiatives. On Friday 20 August 2010 a new agreement was signed on the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Wrocław University of Environmental Life and Sciences between the university, represented by Rector Prof. Roman Kołacz, and Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – Prof. Jan Twardoń and National Veterinary Institute – National Research Institute in Puławy, represented by the director – doc. Tadeusz Wijaszka, Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of Ludwik Hirszfeld of Polish Science Academy in Wrocław, represented by the director – Prof. Jacek Szepietowski and Drwalew Plant of Bioveterinary Industry – Biowet Drwalew S.A., represented by the President of the Board, CEO Bogusław Monczak. The subject of the agreement was foundation of the new scientific and industrial consortium. It is worth mentioning that the main shareholder of Biowet Drwalew S.A., producer of veterinary products, is LABORATORIOS OVEJERO S.A.

One of the main targets of the newly formed consortium will be concetrating on the research potential of its members. This can help make it possible to carry out research projects (within the scope of statutory regulations) concerning veterinary medicine, medicine and biotechnology.

Some of the methods used in fulfilling the agreement will include the following: acquiring and servicing international grants, common national grants and grants financed by EU funds, conducting common research projects, implementing scientific research results into practice, organizing training courses and scientific conferences, coordinating cooperation with other universities and foreign partners, common work on the development of scientific workers of institutions, which form the consortium.
