Welcome Point for foreign students

The team at the Welcome Point, composed of staff from the Recruitment Office, offers both in-person and online support in several languages, including Polish, English, Ukrainian, Russian, and German. They provide guidance on various procedures such as studying, legalizing one’s stay in Poland, and efficiently navigating the university's resources. Additionally, they offer tips on where to find essential information about the city of Wrocław.

As the staff explains: – The Welcome Point is a resource for international students at the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, offering essential information to help them manage their daily lives. From navigating the city and finding accommodation, especially if they prefer not to stay in dormitories, to accessing medical services and completing the necessary paperwork for it, the Welcome Point covers it all. We also advise on setting up a Polish bank account and fulfilling other legal requirements.

The Welcome Point was designed to make life easier for international students both at the university and in the city. According to the staff, its creation was prompted by the realization that while students were often well-oriented in academic matters, they faced significant challenges outside the university due to language barriers and lack of accessible information online. This often led them to seek assistance directly from the Recruitment Office.

Every semester, multiple international students have enrolled in programs taught in Polish and English, with the number increasing each year. The Welcome Point is available to provide continuous support throughout their studies.

Foreign students praise the initiative, saying that the creation of the Welcome Point was a great idea. According to them it shows that UPWr truly cares about its international students, and having a place like this specifically for us foreigners is invaluable. It made them feel more comfortable in my their new environment.
