Videoconference with Ural State Agricultural Academy in Yekaterinburg

Distance Education Center is a department, which not only prepares courses for students but it also opens a window to the world – in this particular case it is a window of an internet communicator, based on peer-to-peer technology.

The videoconference was organized at Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences for the first time on 18 June at Distance Education Center. Among the participants of the conference there were: Professor Alina Wieliczko – Prorector for internalional and regional cooperation, Dr. Gabriel Czachor from the Faculty of Life Sciences and Technology, veterinary surgeon Ewa Tracz-Włodarczyk from the Office for International Programmes, and Professor Piotr Nowakowski from the Faculty of Biology and Animal Science, Professor Józef Sowiński from the Faculty of Life Sciences and Technology. They visited Russian University in April. Ural State Agricultural Academy in Yekaterinburg was represented by Prorector Boris Voronin, Professor Nikolai Sadabnikov, Professor Vyacheslav Kotomtsev and Dr. Elena Shatsky. 

The aim of the videoconference was to present both Universities: their structures, and scientific activity of the employees. Scientists from Yekaterinburg were very interested in the possibility of cooperation, especially in the field of veterinarian medicine and research concerning pollution with heavy metals. Both sides expressed willingness to start working together in the field of conducting common research, participating in conferences and exchanging students and scientific employees. In the close future the scope of research subjects, which could be conducted by both sides, will be presented together with a list of scientific conferences, which could be attended.
