consortium.

The University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Wrocław and the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) have signed an agreement to establish a consortium.

The University was represented by Rector, Professor Roman Kołacz and the Dean of the Faculty of Food Sciences, Professor Józefa Chrzanowska. And the Institute was represented by its director, Professor Danuta Duś. They signed the agreement to establish the new consortium on November 22nd, 2012.

The tasks laid out by the newly formed conglomerate were to strengthen the potential of its members conducting research in the field of biotechnology and food technology. The agreement formed the legal and institutional framework to allow work to be carried out with the objective of combining the results of member’s research by obtaining international grants, national grants and grants financed by European funds; conducting joint research projects, the organisation of scientific conferences and courses, the coordination of cooperation with other universities and foreign partners, and undertaking efforts for the scientific development of workers employed by both institutions.
