Dear Mr. Rector,
I would like to express my gratitude for the unforgettable performances of the Academic Song and Dance Group “Jedliniok”, performed in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan from 12 September to 15 October 2009. The group, which came to us at the invitation of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Astana, performed a series of concerts which added splendor to numerous cultural events organized by our embassy in September and October.
„Jedliniok” was an indisputable star of the „Days of Polish Culture” in Oskemen. It also took part in the commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of Gaining Independence and the Fall of Communism in Central Europe organized by our Embassy in Almaty and Bishkek as well as in the commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the outbreak of the World War II, which took place in Pavlodar.
Jedliniok was the first Polish group in the history of our Embassy to give concerts in the south of Kyrgyzstan in Osh and Jalal-Abad where they performed together with a Kyrgyz folk group under the banner of “Poland-Kyrgyzstan. Music Caravan”.
The concerts of Jedliniok will certainly be well and long remembered amongst the local Polish community, for whom every performance of Jedliniok brought them closer to their mother country (very often never seen). The other residents of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan could observe the beauty of our cultural heritage.
I would like to express my gratitude to Mr Henryk Brzezicki, the director of the “Jedliniok” Group, for the highest professionalism, great cooperation with our Embassy, and the perfect preparation of the Group for the concerts. I would also like to recognize incredible conduct of the students who represented their Universities and the whole student environment in such an admirable way.
I do hope that it was not the last tournee of “Jedliniok” in Central Asia. The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Astana will always be glad to welcome such a professional group and wonderful students.
