GEO-INFO-HYDRO – scientific center worthy of the 21st century
The most cutting edge equipment. The best conditions for scientific research and teaching. Geo-Hydro-Info will officially open together with the new academic year, but we would like to show how proud we are of this investment already today.
26 thousand cubic meters of modernity – this is the definition of the Geo-Info-Hydro, the research-teaching center, whose construction has just been finished by the University of Environmental and Life Sciences. The investment worth 53 million PLN was co-financed with UE funds.
– This is our investment in further, consistent development of the University – says Rector Professor Roman Kołacz. – We are already a significant research and educational center, educating specialists in environmental and engineering fields for the modern economy. We have aspirations but also a real basis to become a research-educational center recognized internationally. Now we also have one of the most modern research and teaching centers in Poland, i.e. Geo-Info-Hydro.
On six floors of the Center there are laboratories, computer rooms, design labs and social facilities. The basement level is not only a car park but also houses laboratories that require heavy equipment. The labs are equipped with cutting edge technology devices: among others a laser scanner and a photogrammetry drone. Starting in October, the modern Center will be the main place integrating students and scientists from South-western Poland with regard to such specializations as Geodesy and Cartography, Construction, Environmental Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Spatial Economy and Safety Engineering.
