EU GREEN Gains Momentum

The excitement of the Staff Week and Student Council has barely subsided, and a few days ago, UPWr welcomed students from the XVII High School in Wrocław as part of the "Tree BioBlitz - Tree Biodiversity Event" project. Now, it's time to embark on the next phase of activities within the consortium, and this time, during a meeting at Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg.

The main goal of the meeting in Magdeburg was to develop Mobility Protocols and discuss the creation of Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs). UPWr leads Working Package 6, and soon, the call for BIP proposals that UPWr can accept and implement will begin.

The UPWr team from Working Package 6, focusing on Supporting Mobility and International Collaboration in Education for Sustainable Development, joined representatives from other alliance universities for a meeting at Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg from October 16 to 20. The meeting revolved around mobility, BIPs, and Erasmus+.

The primary purpose of the visit was to work on the Mobility Protocols, a set of rules and definitions concerning mobility within the EU GREEN project. Additionally, the meeting discussed the development of Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs), programs that combine traditional and remote education, and tools for calculating mobility across the entire consortium.

Strategic Role of UPWr as Co-Leader of WP6

It should be emphasized that UPWr plays the role of a co-leader in Working Package 6, giving these actions special significance. During the meeting, under the leadership of Krzysztof Kafarski, the Director of the International Cooperation Department, and Anna Posadowska-Malarz, the UPWr Erasmus+ Program Coordinator, the operational group developed the principles for creating BIPs and discussed the possibilities of obtaining funding from Action 2 of the Erasmus+ program, which promotes cooperation between organizations and institutions.

The strategic group, represented by Prof. Katarzyna Szopka and Paulina Zaweracz, the EU GREEN Coordinator at UPWr, focused on defining key concepts such as mobility, physical mobility, blended mobility, virtual mobility, and e-mobility. These concepts are part of Mobility Protocols, which aim to systematize and standardize terminology within the project. This group also initiated discussions on the structure of the Internship platform, which will gather internship offers available to all university members.

Call for BIP Proposals

The call for BIP proposals, which UPWr will be able to organize and host, will begin soon. This is another step in the realization of the ambitious goals of the EU GREEN project, which seeks to promote education for sustainable development and international mobility.

The EU GREEN project is an excellent example of how the engagement of universities and international collaboration can support sustainable development goals and education for a better tomorrow.
