Equestrian events in Edinburgh
An international equestrian competition for veterinary students was held on February 25th - 27th 2011 in the Kingsbarn Equestrian Center in Edinburgh. The event was organized by the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies – Horse Society.

An international equestrian competition for veterinary students was held on February 25th - 27th 2011 in the Kingsbarn Equestrian Center in Edinburgh. The event was organized by the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies – Horse Society. The competition consisted of four person teams from each school and included representatives from the USA, Norway, Hungary, Croatia, the UK and Poland. The faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences representatives were Malwina Słowikowska (4th year), Magdalena Szklarz (5th year), Hieronim Borowicz (4th year), Piotr Łoś (4th year). Ph.D. Artur Niedźwiedź, the tutor of clinical sub-section SKN – Veterinary Doctors of Horses Diseases, was leader of the team.
The competition included dressage and show jumping. Team members from the Wrocław took second place in the dressage team competition and defeated perennial riding powers the Royal Veterinary College in London and the local team from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. Another success at the competition was Hieronim Borowicz's second place finish in individual show jumping. First place was taken by a rider from Colorado State University whose just point total was just one point higher than Hieronim.
After the competition the teams' members had time to socialize over dinner at the Revolution Restaurant in Edinburgh. They discussed the competition as well as similarities and differences in veterinary studies in Europe and the USA.
