Biotechnological consortium created
A new consortium has been created by the Faculty of Food Science and the Institute of Agricultural and Food Biotechnology in Warsaw.
The agreement was signed by the Dean Professor Antoni Golachowski and the Director of the Warsaw Institute Professor Roman Grzybowski on Thursday the 25th of March in the Dean’s office at the University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Wrocław.
The agreement creating the consortium between the Faculty of Food Science and the Institute of Agricultural and Food Biotechnology in Warsaw was signed in the presence of the Rector Professor Roman Kołacz, Prorector Professor Józefa Chrzanowska and Professor Wacław Leszczyński.
The Rector Professor Roman Kołacz expressed his hopes for conducting extensive research projects and he also hopes that Wrocław Faculty of Food Science, which is one of the best in Poland, will gain the status of the Leading National Scientific Center. The Dean Professor Antoni Golachowski gave assurance that the Faculty will support the development of the scientific staff of the Institute of Agricultural and Food Biotechnology in Warsaw, and the Director Professor Roman Grzybowski promised that the students of the Wrocław Faculty will have the opportunity of traineeships in the Warsaw Institute.
The main goal of the consortium will be to consolidate the scientific potential of its members in order to carry out significant scientific tasks within the scope of Biotechnology and Food Science. The leader of the consortium will be appointed by a separate annexure for the conducted projects or studies.
The agreement will carry out by the following functions:
- Obtaining and managing international grants, common national grants and grants financed by EU funds,
- Conducting common research projects,
- Organizing training and scientific conferences,
- Coordinating cooperation with other Universities and foreign partners,
- Common action on behalf of the scientific development of the workers of both institutions.
The expenses of the common research projects carried out by the members of the consortium will be covered with non-budget sources (grants, funds) allocated for particular projects according to regulations agreed on by source donors.
